On December 28, 2010 CNN reported that 16 states and the District of Columbia have reported 94 people with Salmonella associated with alfalfa sprouts. Tiny Greens Organic Farm was the source of alfalfa sprouts that made people sick after eating food obtained from Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches outlets on the first of November. Both spicy sprouts which contain radish and clover sprouts in addition to alfalfa sprouts and alfalfa sprouts from Tiny Green’s were sent to grocery stores, farmer’s markets and restaurants in both 4 ounce and 5 pound packages.
The public is being advised not to eat products containing alfalfa sprouts that were produced by the Urbana, Ill based Tiny Green Organic Farm due to the potential for salmonella contamination.
