I've woken up the past couple mornings to Jack Frost kissing the ground outside. It's not a normal occurrence in California, so it's definitely a much welcome novelty. It makes me crave hot chocolate (with pink marshmallows and fresh whipped cream!) and a nice big fire in the fireplace. The birds and squirrels outside are sleepy and the air hangs a little heavier. Its the only time I can not only stand, but enjoy having the lights on in our studio during the day. The cold at this time of year is still new and it whispers reminders to take time for myself and my family and of course to decorate my home and studio with copious amounts of glitter!

I saw this tree in Blueprint Magazine last year. Blueprint has since been canceled, but this tree has stayed with me. It's so happy and carefree!

It's my inspiration for the tree I'm putting up in our studio this year. Our tree will be white with large clear ball ornaments and medium translucent pale pink and pastel robins egg blue glass ball rounds. For a pretty burst of fabulousness and texture, I'm hanging vintage chandelier crystals I found at my favorite antique shop downtown.
