San Diego County Credit Union is a credit union based in San Diego, California. Originally founded in 1938 as San Diego County Employees Credit Union, it opened membership to all residents of San Diego, Orange and Riverside counties of California in the 1970s.

SDCCU is a privately held company with no external stockholders. It has over 207,000 members, and 27 branch offices in its three-county service area. Its deposits are insured by the National Credit Union Administration, but not the FDIC

With more than $4.8 billion in assets, San Diego County Credit Union is a not-for-profit credit union wholly owned and operated by its members. Unlike most other financial institutions, San Diego County Credit Union does not issue stock or pay dividends to outside stockholders. Instead, earnings are returned to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher dividends on deposits and lower fees.

Originally chartered in 1938 as San Diego County Employees Credit Union, SDCCU® was formed to provide for the financial needs of local county government employees. During the 1970's, SDCCU expanded its membership to include all San Diegans and today, is open to everyone living or working in San Diego, Riverside and Orange Counties.

SDCCU has a large portfolio of sponsorships, including the annual Poinsettia Bowl college football bowl game, and the Big Bay Balloon Parade, a tradition connected to the Holiday Bowl.
