FK Norway (Norwegian: Fredskorpset, meaning the Peace Corps) is a Norwegian governmental body financing two-way mutual personnel exchange between companies and organisations in Norway and similar companies and organisations in the South - that is countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
It was first founded in 1963, based on ideas of John F. Kennedy's American Peace Corps, but reorganised and re-established in 2000 ensuring mutual exchange of young people. Itself funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, FK Norway funds exchange programmes between various colleges, organisations, businesses etc in the southern and northern hemispheres.
By October 2010, more than 4000 young participants had been posted abroad for an average period of one year. FK Norway has several regional networks in Asia, Africa, Latin-/South-America and Norway. Tor Elden was secretary general and later director of FK Norway in the period 2000-2008.
Nita Kapoor is director of FK Norway since August 2009.
The head office is located at Stortorvet, Oslo, with regional offices in Uganda and Thailand.
